A culturally important museum, housed within a historical French Gothic building, had many valuable displays, including gold artifacts, that needed 24/7 protection. These artifacts are on public view, so security needed to be discreet and fit with the building’s aesthetic, but limit the risk of theft or vandalism to the pieces and control access to other, restricted areas of the heritage building. A top tourist destination in France, the museum draws significant international traffic, particularly from Germany, Belgium, and Britain, and sees more than two million people visit annually.
This project covered a large, historic French Gothic museum that welcomes over two million visitors each year. The solution spans multiple access points and secured exhibit areas throughout the heritage building.
The museum used our unified security system powered by VIGIL CORE, combining smart controllers, access readers, and secure locks. It also integrates ticket validation and wireless intrusion detection to ensure real-time monitoring and protection.
The customer wanted a solution to control access around the museum and ensure that visitors have valid tickets and cannot enter restricted areas. It also wanted to protect showcases displaying valuable artifacts. The chosen access control solution needed to integrate with third-party solutions, with the option to expand this to additional devices as needed in the future.
To meet the customers’ requirements, an integrated access and intrusion control system was deployed, designed to safeguard valuable artifacts while ensuring a seamless visitor experience.
