For this edition of our Technology Partner Spotlight, we spoke with Daniel Pajuste Widjeskog, Sales Leader at iLOQ Sweden, about digital access management, his long-standing experience with PACOM and Unison, and the opportunities he sees in open technology ecosystems, AI, and data analytics.
Daniel, could you start by telling us a little about iLOQ?
iLOQ is a technology company transforming a traditionally conservative lock industry. Our digital, battery-free locking solutions provide end users with the benefits of a digital access system – including control, traceability and the ability to instantly deactivate lost keys – without the maintenance burden of battery replacements, complex wiring or external power supplies.
The result is a highly cost-effective installation, minimal ongoing maintenance and complete control over access management.
Tell us a little about your role and what it involves.
I serve as Sales Leader and am responsible for all sales operations in Sweden. My role focuses on aligning, coordinating, and continuously developing our sales activities across seven regional districts.
By ensuring a consistent sales approach and fostering collaboration between regions, I help strengthen performance, drive growth, and maximize the value we deliver to customers and partners.
Tell us about your experience of working with PACOM and Unison.
I have worked closely with PACOM for many years in a previous role, where I sold security solutions integrated into the Unison ecosystem.
Over the years, I successfully delivered Unison-based solutions across commercial offices, industrial facilities, and government organizations. That experience gave me a deep understanding of how an open and integrated security ecosystem can address the needs of very different customer environments.
When I joined iLOQ, continuing that relationship felt like a natural choice – this time from the vendor perspective.
What made Unison a natural choice for you and iLOQ?
What made Unison a natural choice for me was its open and integrated approach. Having worked with the platform for many years, I had already seen first-hand how effectively it can bring different security technologies together within one ecosystem.
For me, the real strength of Unison is that customers are not limited to a single technology or solution. They can bring together best-of-breed systems and manage them through a unified security environment.
That philosophy aligns very well with iLOQ: combining innovative technology with an open ecosystem to make access management simpler, more efficient and easier to scale.
How do you see AI and data analytics augmenting security technology?
Artificial Intelligence has already transformed many industries, and I believe the security sector is yet to fully experience that transformation.
AI could proactively identify unused keys or access credentials, detect unusual access patterns or behavioral anomalies, and recommend automations and workflows between integrated systems.
In a unified security ecosystem with data from multiple sensors and connected systems, AI could also help identify likely events and scenarios – for example, detecting a window left open or dynamically postponing arming because movement is still being detected.
By correlating data from multiple sources, AI can provide operators with valuable insights, improve situational awareness, and support faster, more informed decision-making.
Are there any sectors where you see particularly strong potential?
As someone who has been actively involved in community and sports organizations for many years, I see significant potential in how municipalities and local sports clubs manage access to shared facilities such as gyms, football fields, storage areas, and locker rooms.
A considerable amount of taxpayer money is spent administering security and access management for these facilities, often with limited visibility, control, and accountability.
Modern, flexible, and digitally managed access solutions can improve security, simplify administration, and create a more sustainable model while ensuring that the right people have access at the right time.
Daniel’s perspective reflects something increasingly important across the security industry: individual technologies create greater value when they can work together.
