Train to gain

Neil Goward, PACOM’s technical support manager, explains the company’s approach to training provision and what it can offer those looking to improve their knowledge and skills.

In order to get the best from PACOM’s feature packed technology, it is well worth undertaking some training. Not only will this help prevent errors in installation and operation, it will make the entire process easier – thereby saving time and unnecessary costs. Training is carried out at our offices in Leeds, although customised courses can be developed upon request and conducted at a customer’s premises.

Integrated security training courses are suitable for both end users and value added resellers (VARs), while training for VAR salespeople is also available to provide a better understanding of the benefits of using PACOM’s products. From a basic introduction to more advanced courses, the entire PACOM product range is covered – from hardware and devices, to the Graphical Management System (GMS) and Unison software.

The courses combine classroom based learning with practical elements that give delegates a chance to get hands on. Most courses are 2-3 days in duration with a maximum of eight students in each group, each of whom is given a dedicated demo controller kit and devices to work with. The training sessions follow a set structure, with documentation and software provided to each trainee. To encourage maximum levels of engagement, the courses are fast paced and interesting, and participants are encouraged to work in teams, as well as individually.

For further information visit our training page which details forthcoming courses, dates and overviews of course content. VARs can also book places and access all training documentation via the Partner Portal section of the website.
